Zenga! 2005 - 2010
Zenga! is a singer/songwriter whose real name is David Houghton.
David wrote and recorded his first studio album in 2005 entitled "Can You See the Light?"
Direct from David:
The new album is entitled "Celebrate The Weird!!!" is still a work in progress but it is now coming to a close.
I have benefited greatly from the support of Sebastian Pecchia who is producing the album. Seb has understood the vibe and meaning of the basic songs and lifted them up musically by their chord straps.
I am much in awe of the great drums provided by Jimmy Copley, the deep double bass played by Charlie Jones, the amazing keyboard work of Andes and as always the beautiful and heart felt saxaphone playing of Sean McBride. Sean also adds great harmonica in particular to a road song "LA to Vegas". I am also indebted to Terry Edwrds for some lovely trumpet on "Devestation City" a song about a few years spent in a city in the north of England.
The album originally started out being written mostly from experiences in London but a 2 week trip to Southern California has changed all that. I am delighted that such positive creativity can come from that type of scenario/experience - as a result 4 tracks have been dropped and replaced by 5 new tracks!
Which is why the album has taken longer to complete than originally anticipated. However it's important to work through it and get it totally the way you want it as once it's down , it's down for ever.
My new schedule to complete means a Septmber 2010 release and the great news is - it is already sounding like the best album I have ever done.
Okay thanks for reading this and please:
