Musicians

Here are the musicians who played on the album...

Sean McBride
Saxaphone

I've known David "Celibate and Weird" Houghton for a few years, and it has always been interesting, and a challenge.  Oh, hi Dave, didn't know you were looking over my shoulder.  How are you?  I'm glad your new album is almost there - you've put a lot into it, and  it should be the best project yet.  What's cool is how you've developed your songs and concept, and learned from all the previous recordings.  Getting more real all the time.  Next project should be hyper-real.  Or Uber-real.  Or sur...?  Thanks for the opportunity to make good music, and to Seb for making me sound good.  As Neil Cassidy said: ONWARDS!

Anders Olinder
Keyboards

It was an interesting experience recording with David, he was always very particular about getting the right emotion in the music, to fit the lyrics of the song. And that's the way I would like to do it too, it's very important!

Jimmy Copley
Drums

Working for the last three decades in the music industry has given Jimmy the opportunity to play with some of the biggest names in pop, rock, jazz, rock 'n' roll and blues history: Jeff Beck, Paul Rodgers, Magnum, Tears for Fears, Go West, Eric Clapton - and now of course, David Houghton!

Charlie Jones
Bass

Charlie Jones is a British bassist, songwriter and record producer. He has played for Robert Plant, Page and Plant, The Strange Sensation, Goldfrapp. He is married to Robert Plant's daughter Carmen Plant.

Jones is from the Bristol area of the UK. Prior to him joining Robert Plant he was a member of Violent Blue with guitarist Neil Taylor who played lead guitar on early Tears for Fears albums. Taylor now plays guitar with Robbie Williams' tour band.

One of his current gigs is as bassist for Goldfrapp. Outside of that he works on other people's albums both as a session musician and producer.

Terry Edwards
Trumpet
Sebastian Pecchia
Producer
David Houghton
Guitar & Vocals

David wrote all material for Celebrate The Weird, sang lead vocals and played rythmn gutiar on all tracks using the guitar he bought on Sunset Boulevard.

David gets the lyrics first and then builds the chords around the lyrics. His vocals are not touched by any studio tricks they were done in only a few takes. "I wanted people to really feel the emotion on this CD, I really tried to get my feelings clearly represented."
